Fishing Report 5/19 – 5/31

Been busy with very good Coho fishing since our last report. Every trip we are finding large schools of Coho salmon with some Chinook salmon Rainbow trout sprinkled in as well. Majority of the fish are being caught in the top of the water column everywhere from 25′ to 200′ of water using small red/orange dodgers and peanut flies on Church walleye boards and original Yellow bird boards, Michigan Stinger spoons, Dreamweaver spindoctor rotators all using Bullbuster monofilament line and leader material. Fishing should remain steady moving into the summer months with larger numbers of Chinook salmon and Lake trout moving into the fishing grounds off Kenosha Wisconsin. If you are looking for steady action and the tastiest fish for the grill come out and get your fill of the Coho salmon to bring home your dinner plate!!

Fishing Report 5/13/2018

Worked our way through some morning storms to land a nice rack of fish for our clients Sunday. 21 Coho, salmon 1 Brown trout and a sweet 16lb lake trout caught in three hours of trolling with bullbuster monofilament fishing line. Due to the late start of the migration north due to below average temperatures this spring and large numbers of bait fish being seen on our fish locator and in the stomachs of our catch while cleaning my early season prediction are for a solid fishing season with solid numbers of Coho salmon and some solid weights approaching the 40lb mark this summer from our Chinook salmon and Lake trout. We have been fortunate to have great near shore conditions to be able to fish within 500 yards of shore in 15-35 fow. As the temperatures rise in coming weeks and the wind patterns change the lake will set up thermoclines at different depths in the water column’s and we will adjust our techniques, tackle, to target fish lying as deep as 300 fow and beyond. #kenoshacharterfishing #bullbusterambassator #freshwaterfishing

May 5 – 7 fishing report

Finally the weather has warmed here in the Midwest and we were able to get out on Lake Michigan and start our 2018 fishing season. Some good numbers of Coho salmon and Brown trout being caught on 20# bullbuster mono fishing line. As the water continues to warm the Coho fishing will continue to improve and we will start seeing more Chinook (king) salmon, Lake trout, and Rainbow trout showing up in solid numbers. Our first trip we landed 13 of 18 hooked all Coho salmon our second trip we had a nice mixed bag of Coho salmon and Brown trout. The following day we landed 11 of 16 Coho salmon looking for their morning meal. All our fish were caught in 15 to 30 feet of water with most of the fish feeding on the surface due to the gnat and flies hatch this past weekend. Air temperatures were in the sixties while water temperatures are warming to near fifty degrees. We are looking forward to spooling up additional reels with bullbuster braid fishing line in addition to fluorocarbon leader line needed when fishing clear, deep water when a stealthy presentation is needed. Get out and enjoy some time on the water and take a kid fishing!!
